New Delhi: Kingfisher Airlines on Thursday said that the scheduled flights will continue to operate and safety of passengers is of paramount importance.
Sanjay Aggarwal, CEO, Kingfisher airlines said, "DGCA has asked Kingfisher Airlines to provide a specific timeline for getting the grounded aircraft back in the air and for its recapitalization efforts. We would like to clarify that DGCA did not have any significant findings or concerns with regard to safety at Kingfisher Airlines and that we have adequate number of pilots and engineers to operate our scheduled services."
In a statement issued on Thursday, He added, "We would like to reassure our valued guests that at Kingfisher Airlines, safety is of paramount importance and that our scheduled flights will continue to operate with utmost safety in full compliance with regulatory requirements and stipulations in this regard."
Amidst the continuing financial woes of domestic airlines, the DGCA chief has said that there is no threat of any of the airlines being shut down. "There is no threat of any airline shutting down or their licences being cancelled," DGCA chief Bharat Bhushan said on Thursday.
He said that all airlines were financially weak, but the DGCA will ensure that this not affect air safety. "We have been in touch with all the airlines like Spicejet, Jet Airways and Indigo and we are ensuring that safety norms are ensured. We have asked them to come back in a few days and tell us what measures they will be taking," Bhushan said.
