New Delhi: No-frills carrier SpiceJet on Wednesday claimed its bookings surged by 400 per cent on day one of its three-day special promotional fares scheme "Celebration", in which the airline has offered an all-inclusive ticket at as low as Rs 1,010 on its domestic network to celebrate 10 years of operations.
SpiceJet has witnessed an overwhelming response to its latest "Celebration Sale" with bookings volumes jumping by a whopping 400 per cent on day one of the sale as compared to a normal day, the airline said.
The SpiceJet offer, which was announced on Tuesday, is valid till midnight on Thursday and tickets can be booked for travel between July 1 and October 15.
There are, however, limited seats available and the offer is on first-come-first-served basis, SpiceJet had said. "This promotional offer has seen the highest demand from two preferred holiday destinations Srinagar and Goa. New Delhi-Srinagar and Mumbai-Goa are among the sectors that seen maximum demand under this offer," the airlines said.
Other top routes, which have seen higher bookings than a normal day, include Kolkata-New Delhi, Mumbai-New Delhi and Bengaluru-New Delhi among others. The Gurgaon-based airline had began its flight services in May 2005.
