Mallakhamba or mallakhamb is a traditional sport that has its origins in India. This difficult sport includes a gymnast, who performs aerial yoga or gymnastic poses with the help of a stationary vertical pole. In fact, the word Mallakhamb refers to the pole, which is generally made of Sheesham and polished with castor oil. It is a form of ancient martial arts, which helps in training wrestlers and warriors. Hence, the word Malla also means wrestling and khamb(a) means pole; hence Mallakhamb means wrestling the pole.
