In a bid to inspire young individuals aspiring to venture into the world of modelling, a ramp walk was organised by a private organisation near the iconic Gandhi statue on Puducherry beach. The magnificent event drew the participation of more than 70 models hailing from Bangalore, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu, showcasing their fashion prowess and adding a touch of glamour to the beachfront.
The models, both men and women, brought their A-game to the runway, dressed in an array of designer outfits that set the stage ablaze. The women graced the catwalk in heavily embellished gowns and designer lehengas, showcasing their mesmerising walks, while the men looked dapper in stylish suits, contributing to the overall allure of the event.
Comprising three distinctive rounds – solo, duo, and group – the event allowed each model to display their unique style and approach, leaving the audience spellbound with their impeccable skills and beauty. Notably, the ramp walk competition held on the beach road garnered not only the attention of Puducherry residents but also drew in tourists as honoured guests.
Following the spectacular ramp walk, an award distribution ceremony took place to commemorate the models’ contributions. The private company behind the event presented prizes and awards to those who participated in the grand beauty pageant, accompanied by certificates to recognize their outstanding participation.
In a similar vein, Puducherry witnessed the organization of the Small Grain Food Nutrition Festival in September, championing the cause of child nutrition. Hosted by the Department of Women and Child Development of Puducherry in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme, the food festival underscored the significance of small-grain cereals while aligning with the celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Mah, an annual observance under the POSHAN Abhiyaan.
