Following the intense clash in Chandigarh, Vihari shared a post on the microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), recalling the days when he had shared the dressing room with Nitish Reddy as part of the Andhra Pradesh team.
“His (Nitish’s) father left his job for his career, he guided him and nurtured him. His hard work has paid dividends and I’ve seen him when he was 17 years old. Proud of him for how he’s grown as a player. Asset for SRH and India in the future.”

As per reports, Nitish’s father Mutalya Reddy held a post in Hindustan Zinc. He had to quit the job after being transferred to Udaipur. Nitish developed his interest in cricket at the age of five when he could only play with a plastic bat. His father later took Nitish to the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) where eminent coaches trained him.
Reddy first hogged the limelight with his batting in the Vijay Merchant Trophy in the 2017-18 season. He registered a total of 1237 runs during the campaign at a stunning average of 176.41 and it is the highest aggregate in the tournament history. He scored a triple-hundred, two centuries and two half-centuries in the domestic competition.
