England star Jason Roy has gone unsold at The Hundred Draft ahead of the latest season held on Wednesday. Roy had a reserve price of £100,000 but found no takers despite being one of England’s leading white-ball cricketers.
Roy was set to appear in the IPL 2024 where he was to represent Kolkata Knight Riders but pulled out days before the start of the season citing personal reasons. KKR replaced him with Phil Salt.
Roy played for the Oval Invincibles and was released following a couple of underwhelming seasons. Last year, he managed just one half-century and registered as many as three ducks while appearing in all matches for the Invincibles.
What may have prevented potential bidders from making a move is the fact that Roy also has signed a contract with Major League Cricket (MLC) this year which clashes with The Hundred.

Australian David Warner also failed to find a bidder as did New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Babar Azam of Pakistan.
England pacer Mark Wood was also ignored. England’s red-ball cricketers will miss the start of the season that gets underway from July 13 since it clashes with the third Test against West Indies.
The top-bracket picks were dominated by West Indies stars with Northern Superchargers coach Andrew Flintoff selecting Nicholas Pooran as the first signing of the draft.
Andre Russell and Shimron Hetmyer will represent London Spirit, Kieron Pollard will turn out for Southern Brave while Rovman Powell has joined Trent Rockets.
