Pakistan's Babar Azam shared an adorable moment with Usman Khawaja's daughter ahead of their Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

WBabar Azam was captured sharing an adorable hug with Usman Khawaja’s daughter on the eve of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan. With the world celebrating Christmas on Monday, the Pakistan cricket team paid a visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground where the Australian side was going through an indoor practice session. The visitors presented the Australian cricketers with special Christmas gifts. They also brought candies and lollipops for the little ones present at the venue.

One of them was Khawaja’s daughter, who was seen playing around the practice ground along with the other children. When players of both teams were busy sharing Christmas greetings, a cute moment transpired between Babar and the little girl. In a video shared by Pakistan Cricket on X (formerly Twitter), Babar Azan was spotted hugging Khawaja’s daughter with a hearty smile on his face.

The clip opens with Pakistani skipper Shan Masood making his way into the MCG practice ground carrying a box full of gifts. Australian captain Pat Cummins came forward to welcome him. Some members of the Pakistani coaching staff were seen distributing the presents among the wives and children of the Australian cricketers. From Travis Head to David Warner, almost every player of the home unit was present at the Christmas celebration with their families.

With the Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan underway in Melbourne, Usman Khawaja was wearing shoes featuring the names of his daughters – Aisha and Ayla.

The Aussie opener has sought permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to wear footwear bearing a statement about human rights in Gaza. Cricket’s governing body turned down his request, banning the exhibition of a black dove holding an olive branch on his bat and shoes.

Australia have already taken a lead in the ongoing three-match Test series against Pakistan. The hosts put up a dominant performance across all departments during the opening Test in Perth. With Pakistan facing a batting collapse in the fourth innings, Australia notched a commanding 360-run victory on the fourth day of the match.
