IPL 2024: DC's Kuldeep Yadav Forces Skipper Rishabh Pant to Take DRS, Proven Right as Jos Buttler Falls | WATCH
Buttler was originally given not out by the umpire, however, Kuldeep forced Pant to opt for DRS and was proven right when the review turned out to be fortuitous for the capital city side as the Englishman was asked to walk back to the hut.

Delhi Capitals’ Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav demonstrated his confidence and his craft with the ball as he dismissed Rajasthan Royals’ opener Jos Buttler during the encounter between the sides at the Sawai Manshing Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

Buttler was originally given not out by the umpire, however, Kuldeep forced skipper Rishabh Pant to opt for DRS and was proven right when the review turned out to be fortuitous for the capital city side as the Englishman was asked to walk back to the hut.

The left-arm spinner was seen manually making the hand sign to go upstairs using the limbs of his skipper and wicketkeeper Pant.

DC won the toss and opted to have a bowl first against the Sanju Samson-led side and struck early as Mukesh Kumar removed Indian starlet Yashasvi Jaiswal from the crease for just 5 runs off the 7 deliveries he faced.

RR skipper Samson was next to go as he knicked one back to Pant, behind the wicket, off pacer Khalil Ahmed to walk back to the dugout for 15 off 14 deliveries.

Buttler fell next as he was dismissed for 11 off 16 deliveries, having not even registered a boundary in the innings.

Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin settled some RR nerves as they steadied the ship in the middle overs as the Indian pair played measured knocks to stabilise the innings.

The fixture also sees DC captain Pant making his 100th IPL appearance for the Delhi team, thus becoming the first player in the capital city side’s history to reach the century mark.

He surpassed spinner Amit Mishra’s record of 99 games for the Delhi side to achieve the feat.

He joins an elite list of players, including Suresh Raina (CSK), Harbhajan Singh (MI), Virat Kohli (RCB), Gautam Gambhir (KKR), Ajinkya Rahane (RR) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH) to become the first players to reach the milestone appearance mark for their respective sides.
