Star Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf was smashed for two sixes in a row by Indian superstar Virat Kohli during the 2022 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan in Melbourne on October 23. India needed 28 runs to win from eight balls when Kohli decided to take on Rauf, and he turned the match in India’s favour by bringing down the equation to 16 from six balls.
After more than 18 months of that incident, a fan gave a brutal reminder of Kohli’s sixes to Rauf by asking him if he still remembers the two sixes smacked by the former India captain.
In a video going viral on the internet of an MLC match, when Rauf was fielding near the boundary line, a fan asked him, “Haris bhai Melbourne abhi bhi yaad aata hai? Virat ke 2 chakke, yaad hai? (Do you still remember Melbourne? Virat’s two sixes).”

In the 2022 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan, Rauf dismissed Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav to put his side in pole position, but Kohli’s two sixes ruined his day. He finished the match with figures of 4-0-36-2.
Kohli, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 82 runs from 53 balls and helped India chase down the target of 160 runs to win the match by four wickets.
Rauf vs India in 2024 T20 World Cup
Rauf was in action for Pakistan against India in the 2024 T20 World Cup as well. He picked up three wickets for 21 runs in three overs during the Group A match played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9. Thanks to his super bowling show, Pakistan dismissed India for 119 runs, but the Babar Azam-led side failed to chase down the 120-run target and went on to lose the match by seven runs.
The 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup was a forgetful one for the Men in Green, as apart from India, they also suffered a defeat against the United States of America. The two defeats in Group A matches ended the Babar Azam-led side’s chances of qualifying for the Super 8s.
