Uncertainty looms in the Lucknow Super Giants camp after the side’s thumping defeat by the hands of the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. The LSG brigade has also been silent across their social media handles, adding to the speculations regarding the side.
One of the notable moments that caught fire in social media was the franchise owner, Sanjiv Goenka having an animated discussion with the skipper KL Rahul following the defeat against SRH.
Reports have also suggested that Rahul could be relieved from his role as the skipper and the franchise could look at a fresh start with someone else at the helm.

But the former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly believes that it is not fair to make any comments without knowing the entire context of the conversation that took place between the two.
“It is not fair for me to make a comment based on a TV grab. I don’t know what Sanjeev had spoken to Rahul. So, I leave it at that,” he said.

While Lucknow was in contention for a spot in the top-4, consistency is something the side has struggled with throughout the season. They started off their season with a loss to Rajasthan Royals but went on a three-match win streak after. The topsy-turvy season continued and the side now find themselves sixth in the points table.
Injuries to key players like the rising pace sensation, Mayank Yadav have seriously affected the side’s bowling unit. The side’s spin duo of Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi, both of whom are international-level players have also struggled picking up wickets regularly.
The lack of runs from the top order has also affected the side massively with most of the responsibility falling on the LSG skipper and Marcus Stoinis to score the big runs which can prove to be too much to handle.

After the video went viral, the LSG owner had also limited comments on his social media handles as the fans have been bashing the owner for his animated chat with Rahul.
LSG’s final two games of the season will be up against Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians. Taking both wins and some fixtures falling in their favour could mean that the side would make it to the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
