'Not Screening in Ahmedabad': Rajasthan Royals' Subtle 'KGF' Dig at Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Rajasthan Royals poked fun at Royal Challengers Bengaluru after the latter's troika of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis failed to fire in the IPL Eliminator.

Rajasthan Royals finally got back on the winning track on a crucial day when they went up against a high-flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Eliminator of the ongoing IPL 2024 in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

The Sanju Samson-led side outclassed RCB across departments to secure a four-wicket victory in the knockout game, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

On the back of the win, RR marked their entry into the second qualifier, where they will clash against the losers of Qualifier 1, Sunrisers Hyderabad.

RCB managed 172 and RR overhauled the target rather comfortably.

However, the franchise did take a dig at their opponent on social media after their star batter failed to perform.

RR shared a picture featuring the name of a famous Kannada film franchise, K.G.F.

Though from the film’s perspective, the initials in the title refer to something else, RCB fans made it iconic for their iconic – Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis.

RR shared a poster of KGF on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Now (not) screening in Ahmedabad.”

The post caught the attention of users, who found it quite entertaining.

Showering plaudits on the creator, a user commented, “Admin on fire.”

Another branded RR’s as the “best social media admin”.

Fuelling the rivalry, an RCB fan reminded the RR supporters that their team had yet to chase down the target in the second innings.

“Bro don’t forget you have 2nd innings to play,” wrote the person.

RCB did gain some control while defending but they didn’t have enough runs to secure a win.

Lockie Ferguson castled RR opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore early in the powerplay. Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, held his nerve and built the foundation with a composed 45-run knock.

Following the dismissals of Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer took over, going all guns blazing. The duo racked up a crucial 45-run partnership, which certainly eased the pressure.

Rovman Powell applied the finishing touch.
