The marquee India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match is scheduled for June 9 in New York and Yuvraj Singh, a veteran of many epic battles between the neighbours, is looking forward to the game as it will be the first time he will be watching it from the venue.
“Well, it’s a game of emotion. If we win, we’ll go crazy. If we lose, we’ll go crazy. But the thing is, if we win, they will go crazy with us. If we lose, they will go crazy with us. That’s the difference,” Yuvraj Singh, an ICC Ambassador for the T20 World Cup, was quoted as saying at the opening of Fan Park at the Oculus Trade Centre in New York.
“But I think, whether it’s India, Pakistan, or any other game, I’m sure the guys are going 100%. It’s just that I always feel that the team who control their emotion on that day better and focus on the match situation, they will win the game,” Yuvraj added.
“In the last couple of years, we’ve had a better record than Pakistan. And hopefully, we can continue that,” Yuvraj said.
“I think I would not be that nervous going into India-Pakistan game watching it. I’ve watched on TV, but never been to the ground watching an India-Pakistan match. This will be first time,” he added.
India have lost only once to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in seven meetings with their only defeat coming in 2021 when the Virat Kohli-led side lost by 10 wickets at the Super 12 stage.
The arch-rivals are set to lock horns in a newly established facility in Nassau County with a capacity of 34,000 spectators on June 6. With mere days left for the mouth-watering India vs Pakistan game, ticket prices are skyrocketing with each passing day.
