India batter Rinku Singh’s remarkable bowling spell against Sri Lanka set the cricket fans into a frenzy. The 26-year-old dismissed two of Sri Lanka’s middle-order batters – Kusal Perera and Ramesh Mendis – in the penultimate over, leaving the hosts in a spot of bother as they chased 138 against India.
Interestingly, it was his first over in T20I and Rinku returned figures of 2/3 to change the complexion of the game. His heroics with the ball, followed by another successful over by captain Suryakumar Yadav, helped India restrict Sri Lanka to 137 in 20 overs, pushing the game into a Super Over which India won comprehensively to clinch the series 3-0.

Rinku Singh made the perfect comeback yesterday after failing to show up in the first half of the match. The young finisher came in slightly early at fourth during his team’s innings. He was dismissed at just one run in two balls by Maheesh Theekshana.
Rinku Singh’s comeback enabled India to draw the game at 137 runs. In the super over, team skipper Suryakumar Yadav struck a match-winning boundary to complete the series 3-0. India are now set to take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series starting this Friday, August 2.
