The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is an annual examination organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Indian universities. Scheduled to take place from May 15 to May 31, CUET 2024 requires candidates to select their preferred courses during the registration process, expected to commence in February. Admission decisions will be based on the exam scores, with each participating university setting its cut-off scores.
Delhi University (DU), a prestigious institution in India, recently secured the 11th position among top universities and 17th in the research category in the NIRF rankings. With a total of 77 affiliated colleges, DU is divided into North Campus and South Campus. For CUET UG admissions in DU colleges, the cut-off scores for courses like BA, B.Sc, and B.Com generally hover around the 97th percentile, based on past cut-off data. Last year, Hansraj College set the minimum score for B.Sc at 754.6 and for B.Com at 770. The cut-off for BA (Hons.) was 758.45.
Participating in CUET 2024, the renowned Lady Shri Ram College had a cut-off of 708.4 for the BA program and 770 for B.Com in the previous year. Similarly, Miranda House College set the minimum score for BA Honors and BSc at 770, while Ramjas College’s cut-off for B.Sc and BA was above 762.
CUET (UG) admission eligibility requires candidates to have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination. During the admission process at Central Universities, candidates falling within reserved categories benefit from government-mandated reservations. General Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) candidates receive 10% reservation, SC has 15%, ST has 7.5%, OBC-NCL has 27% and physically handicapped candidates get 5% reservation.
In essence, CUET serves as a gateway for aspiring students to secure admissions in esteemed universities like Delhi University, offering quality education within an affordable fee structure.
