The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the frequently asked questions (FAQs) for the Common University Entrance Test – Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024. As per the FAQs, the agency has added two new subjects – fashion studies and tourism. “In CUET (UG) – 2024, a candidate may take a maximum of 06 subjects from 63 Subjects/Languages. Two new subjects Fashion Studies and Tourism have also been added,” reads the official notice.

CUET UG 2024 exam duration: The CUET UG 2024 will be held for a total of 63 subjects which include 33 language subjects, 29 domain-specific, and one general test. Students will have to attempt 40 out of 50 questions in all subjects including languages. The duration of the test will be of 45 minutes duration. However, in the case of subjects such as Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science / Informatics Practices, Chemistry, Mathematics / Applied Mathematics, and general test, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes.

CUET UG 2024 Syllabus:

Language is to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary, and Narrative), Literary Aptitude, and Vocabulary.

Domain Subject syllabus is as given on NTA website – exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.

General Test topics include General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/stat), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.

The exam city slips will likely be issued on April 30, followed by admit cards in the second week of May. The CUET UG 2024 examination is scheduled to take place between May 15 and May 3. However, UGC Chairman M Jagadish Kumar has hinted at the possibility of changes to the exam dates due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

CUET (UG) – 2024 is being offered in 380 cities including 26 cities outside India. The examination format will feature multiple-choice questions, offering candidates the choice to attempt the paper in 13 different languages including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

The NTA further added that if none of the options is found correct, or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then all candidates who have attempted that question will be given five marks.

Successful candidates in the examination will secure admission to more than 250 universities nationwide, including central universities, state universities, private universities, and deemed universities.
