The Department of Telecommunications has invited applications for the positions of Assistant Director (AD) and Junior Telecom Officer (JTO). The mentioned positions will be filled on a temporary contract basis. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications by post or email. Applications are open to retired government servants, officers and officials from PSUs or research organisations, as well as retired individuals from BSNL/MTNL under VRS-2019. Candidates must be under 64 years old, have computer skills and have knowledge of DoT field unit/telecom. The consultants will first work on a six-month contract basis. The contract can be renewed based on performance for a maximum of 6 terms of 6 months each, or until the employee becomes 65 years old, whichever occurs first until regular workers are available.
The official notification mentions a special condition as well. It states that The consultant may have to do outside duties throughout Haryana or Karnataka LSA jurisdiction. Those who are unable to do outside duties should not apply.
The selection panel may conduct personal interactions/interviews with the candidates shortlisted by the panel. The department’s decision to hire a consultant shall be final and binding. The number of positions is subject to change based on requirements. Consultants will be assigned to either the Panchkula or Ambala locations based on necessity.
