London: Dimitar Berbatov's future has once again been cast into doubt after Alex Ferguson admitted he could leave Manchester United. When asked on French TV whether Berbatov could move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Alex Ferguson said smiling: "Yes, he might. That's possible."
Despite scoring 20 league goals last season for the club, the Bulgarian striker did not even make the bench for the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley and was reportedly in tears over his exclusion from the squad.
Reports claim that United could ask for around 20 million pounds for the striker, which would result in a loss of 10 million pounds on the amount they paid Tottenham three years ago.
But United chief executive David Gill revealed at the weekend that the club is not looking to sell Berbatov.
He said: "Everyone has been talking about Berbatov from the outside, saying he wants to leave or that we want him to leave, but we don't want him to go. We want him to stay. He scored 20 goals last season, so there is no desire on our behalf to see him go."
Berbatov began last season as first-choice striker alongside Wayne Rooney but soon lost his regular starting role to Javier Hernandez.
PSG have spent big this summer after being taken over by new owners and recently agreed a 37.7 million pound fee for Chelsea target and Palermo midfielder Javier Pastore.
Reports suggested the French giants were looking to bring Inter striker Samuel Eto'o to the club but they now look to have switched their attentions to Berbatov.
