Rome: AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi confirmed on Friday that he is in negotiations with a group of Chinese investors to sell the football club.
Berlusconi, in an interview with Centro Suono Sport radio, said that he was in talks with a group of Chinese companies, reports Efe.
He added that he does not know if he would close the negotiations, as he awaited confirmation they would make significant investments in the forthcoming years.
Berlusconi, who has chaired Milan since 1986, reached the decision to sell the club after recent years of economic difficulties, but reiterated that he would sell only to those who would remake the team as a champion in Italy, Europe and the world.
Milan finished seventh in the Serie A this season, with 15 wins and 11 losses from 38 games. They won their last Serie A title in the 2010-11 season.
Milan, the most successful club in European history after Real Madrid, has not played in UEFA Champions League in the last two years.
