England: New signing Marcos Rojo will not make his Manchester United debut against Sunderland on Sunday as he has yet to receive a work permit, adding to a growing list of absentees for manager Louis van Gaal.
The Argentina defender was presented Friday as United's third big acquisition of the summer, after Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, having joining for 20 million euros ($27 million) from Sporting Lisbon on a five-year deal on Wednesday.
But Van Gaal will have to wait before giving Rojo his first start, and says he is also without four injured midfielders for Sunday's Premier League game - Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Jesse Lingard. Left back Shaw is still out with a hamstring injury.
United started the season with a 2-1 home loss to Swansea.
