Like other filters, you can easily apply it to your camera in the "Effects" menu. This wikiHow will show you how to find and use the buzz cut filter on TikTok and Snapchat using your iPhone, iPad, or Android.

Things You Should Know

To use the TikTok filter, open the TikTok app and tap "+" to create a new TikTok.
Tap the magnifying glass and search for "crew cut." Tap the first result to use the effect.
On Snapchat, search for the "bald character" Lens by Snapchat.

Using TikTok

Open the TikTok app. This looks like a multi-colored music note with a black background. TikTok is available for iOS in the App Store and for Android in the Google Play Store. You can also download it on Windows in the Microsoft Store. If you aren't already logged in, tap Log in to do so now, or tap Sign up to create an account.

Tap +. This will be at the bottom of the screen. This is how you can create a new TikTok.

Tap Effects. This is the square to the left of the record button.

Tap the magnifying glass icon. This will open a search window.

Enter crew cut. Results will load as you type.

Tap Crew Cut. This will have an icon of a person with a buzz cut. The effect should be applied immediately.

Look at the screen. If needed, tap the circular arrow icon in the top-right corner to switch to the front-facing camera. You don't need to create a video to use the filter; it should be applied automatically when it recognizes your face. If you want to create a video, tap the record button to record. Adjust the song, add effects, and tap the checkmark icon to post.

Using Snapchat

Open the Snapchat app. This looks like a white ghost with a yellow background. If you aren't already logged in, tap Sign in to do so now, or create an account. Snapchat has removed the buzz cut filter, but you'll still be able to use a filter that removes your head hair.

Tap the camera icon. This is the center button on the bottom. You may already be on this page.

Tap the "Explore Lenses" icon. This looks like a magnifying glass with a star. A new page will open.

Tap the search bar and type bald character. Results will load as you type.

Tap Bald Character. This is the Bald Character Lens by Snapchat. You may need to scroll down to find it. The effect will load.

Look at the screen. If needed, tap the rectangular arrow icon in the top-right corner to switch to the front-facing camera. The filter should be applied automatically when it recognizes your face. If you want to create a Snap, hold the record button. Tap Send to to send the Snap to your friends. To post on TikTok, tap the download icon to save the video to your device. When posting to TikTok, select the Upload option and tap your video.
