How to Get to Sunshine Isles in Super Mario 64 DS
How to Get to Sunshine Isles in Super Mario 64 DS
Sunshine Isles is one of the earlier Secret Star levels in Super Mario 64 DS, styled similar to Super Mario Sunshine. There is one secret star that can be obtained in this level. Finding this level can be a bit difficult, but fortunately, this wikiHow will provide you with some advice for finding Sunshine Isles.
Steps

Make sure you have at least one Power Star. This can be done by simply obtaining any star in the first level (and the only door on the first floor with a star symbol but no red number on it), Bob-Omb Battlefield.

Know where to find the room containing the Sunshine Isles painting. Like Bob-Omb Battlefield and most of the other levels, Sunshine Isles is accessed by jumping in to a painting. From the center of the first floor of the castle, head up the largest, middle staircase, and go to the far right. You should notice a door with a star symbol, and a red “1” on it.

Open this door if you haven’t done so already. A brief animation will play of the Power Star unlocking the door, and then a short message should appear. After that, you should automatically enter the room. If you’ve already entered this room, then your character should enter the room automatically.

Go through the middle door at the end of this hallway. You may notice four locked doors (3 of them should have letters above them) as well as two paintings of Princess Peach, but you’ll want to ignore these for now, and come back to them later on.

Know where to go from here. You should notice that you’re in a room with a Toad, and there’s several drawers in the background. This is the “Rec Room”, and you can come here if you want to play minigames. You may also notice a door with a star symbol and a red “8” on it. This is the room with the level to unlock Mario, and you should be able to come back to it later. To the left, there should be a painting of a tropical island. This is the painting you’ll want to jump in.

Wait briefly for the level to load. There won’t be a level selection screen, since it’s not a typical level. When it loads, you have officially entered Sunshine Isles.

What's your reaction?
