UDUPI: During postmortem, three injuries of a shotgun were found in the body of Sadashiva Gowda, who was shot dead by the naxalites for being a police informer, in the deep forests of Nadpalu, said Udupi SP Ravi Kumar.The dead body, traced on Wednesday in a decomposed state in a sitting posture with his hands tied could be brought to Karkala only on Thursday. The postmortem was conducted at Government Hospital, Karkala. The SP said the injuries were of a shotgun, the fire arm generally used by Naxalites. “His body was found close to where the Naxalites had had their camp, probably last week. The evidences of the camp were found. Naxalites shot him on his return after collecting cane raw materials. As his house was found locked, it is neither a case of abduction or kidnapping,” he said. ‘ANF inquiry into Gowda’s death’ Bangalore: Claiming that 45-year-old Sadashiva Gowda, who was killed after being allegedly kidnapped by the Naxals was not a police informer, Home Minister R Ashok said that an inquiry will be conducted into Gowda’s death. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Ashok said that the Anti-Naxal Force will investigate the cause of death of Gowda, whose bullet-ridden decomposed body was found near Hebri village on Wednesday.“A preliminary enquiry had revealed that the Gowda was shot dead. The investigation would ascertain whether Naxals killed him.”
