New Delhi: Four people have been arrested after a massive fake admission racket in Delhi University colleges was busted. The Crime Branch has unearthed irregularities in the admission process through the scheduled caste/scheduled tribe quota.
Hindu college, Kirori Mal college, Ram Lal Anand college, PGDAV college, Kamla Nehru college and Dayal Singh college are among the 10 colleges under scanner in the fake admission racket. Ten fake admissions are likely to be from Bhagat Singh College alone. In all, 25 admissions have reportedly taken place during the current academic year.
The crime branch has not ruled out the involvement of touts and college staff. The Delhi University has seen cut off list of over 95% and even 100% in certain courses in some subjects.
Those who have been apprehended in the case are Sunil Pawar (aged 41 years), Mohd Zuber (aged 25 years), Parveen Kumar (aged 33 years) and Ranchit Khurana (aged 30 years).
Sunil Pawar and Zuber have been detained for procuring the candidate. They were in touch with Ranchit who used to get the forged documents prepared from Parveen.
The modus operandi used by them was preparation of forged documents like mark sheets, migration certificates, degrees, character certificates and caste certificates. They even prepared the fake degrees of various universities for the candidates who were trying for jobs in the private sector.
