60-year-old teacher arrested for molesting Class 5 girl

Ghaziabad: A 60-year-old teacher was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting a Class 5 student of a leading private school in Sahibabad.

Based on a complaint filed by the girl's mother, a resident of Dilshad Garden in Delhi, a case has been registered against music teacher Tarun Chatterjee, a senior police officer said.

According to the complainant, the accused, a resident of Shahdara, would travel in the same bus as the girl to the school in Sahibabad.

It was on September 5 that she complained to her mother about the teacher's behaviour.

Following the complaint and his subsequent arrest, the school management has suspended the teacher, the police said, adding that a probe was on into the case.
