I am attending this job mela only to work again at this age,” a 69-year-old non pensioner Sundar Raj said.“Our first preference are non-pensioners. As long as the senior citizens are able-bodied, they deserve a chance to get employed.” said Radha Murthy, management trustee, Nightingale’s Medical Trust.Most of the elderly in the country have an ‘unplanned’ old age, burdened with medical expenses owing to bad health and no proximity to their children.
