New Delhi: On the festival of Rakshabandhan, recently-released-from-prison Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt and Monica Bedi are back in the limelight.
While Dutt has a special festival function to attend on the occasion, former inmates of Monica in the Bhopal jail remember her fondly on this day.
On Tuesday, Dutt will attend a function being organised by commercial sex workers in Mumbai, an event his father late Sunil Dutt used to attend.
The function that has been held since 1984 is organised by People's Health Organisation (PHO).
Dutt and his two brothers-in-law Kumar Gaurav and Owen Roncon will attend the programme, PHO Secretary General I S Gilada, who treats HIV-positive and AIDS patients, said on Monday, reported IANS.
It would also be a happy occasion for underworld don Abu Salem's girlfriend Monica Bedi, as her former women inmates at the Central Jail in Bhopal where she was lodged for about ten months have sent her rakhis.
The rakhis were sent to her ancestral home at Chabbewal village in Punjab's Hoshiarpur by post about five days. The Bollywood starlet has been staying there since her release.
Her inmates recall fondly that Monica taught their children dance and singing besides encouraging the women to read.
On July 16, Monica was acquitted by a local court on the grounds that the prosecution failed to prove the charge.
