BANGALORE: The Director General of Police for Fire and Emergency Services A R Infant, is all set to move the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) questioning the appointment of Shankar M Bidari as the DG & IGP of the state by overlooking his seniority and merit. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the IPS officer of the 1977 batch, said that as per the law he should have been made the DG & IGP. “Legitimately, the government should have appointed me to the post. I will seek legal remedy in the CAT. The process is on to file,” said Infant. He declined to comment over the alleged favouritism by the government in appointing Bidari, a 1978 batch IPS officer, to the top post. Bidari took charge as the new DG & IGP of the state on November 30 evening succeeding N Achuta Rao.
