Aamir says his show has unprecedented viewership with entire villages sitting together to watch the story unfold.

New Delhi: Satyamev Jayate may not have been able to match the TRPS of Kaun Banega Crorepati, but that is not upsetting Aamir Khan. Aamir has said that his show has unprecedented viewership with entire villages sitting together to watch the story unfold.

Going by the Television Rating Points that measure the viewership of shows on television, Aamir Khan's much publicised issue based chat show 'Satyamev Jayate' did not take off on the flying start that it was expected to. The first episode registered a viewership of 4.27 TVR, which was lower than Amitabh Bachchan's popular show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. But Aamir Khan begs to differ. The actor believes that Satyamev Jayate beats any other show on the small screen when it comes to viewership.

"This is the kind of debate we had hoped to generate and discussions among people across, you know, the country – whether it is small towns, villages or cities, across economic groups. And that is exactly what is happening and me and my entire team is really happy about that," Aamir Khan said.

While some reports suggest that advertisers have begun to make a noise about 'Satyamev Jayate's high advertisement rates and dipping TRPs, Aamir himself is keen for a second season of the show.

"If people like the show much as to want a second season of the show, I would be happy to do that. So for me, this journey does not end here. I am hoping it will go on," Aamir said.

The actor also reiterated that his show will not shy away from taking up controversial issues despite the recent uproar by the Indian Medical Association over an episode on medical malpractices.
