Retrenched employees of various government owned corporations and departments would intensify their agitation in the next ten days if there was no positive response from the administration, a top leader said on Saturday.
Four thousand-odd workers engaged in the previous Congress regime in the departments and corporations on daily wage basis were dismissed as soon as the present Rangasamy-led government assumed office in 2011, Saravanan, president of the Association of Welfare of the Retrenched Workers, claimed.
The dismissed workers had been making representations in vain for their re-employment, he told reporters in Puducherry and urged the government to reinstate them.
Saravanan said the Association was giving ten days time to the government to reinstate the suffering workers and if there was no response "we would launch a massive agitation in Puducherry to get justice."
