BANGALORE: Suggesting measures to eradicate leprosy from the country, former Lokayukta Justice Shivaraj V Patil said that each state has legal service authority which helps the poor and needy who cannot afford the services of a legal aid in rural areas. “These mobile vans of state legal services can also be used by social activists who are well versed with the leprosy programme to spread awareness on this infectious diseases in villages and remote areas”, he said at the golden jubilee celebration of AIFO (Amici di Raoul Follereau) on Saturday.Dr Ranganath Rao, a participant, said that despite a burden on leprosy, the Government has turned blind eye to this problem.
