New Delhi: The Maharashtra state power distribution company offices have been attacked by angry mobs in different parts of Mumbai.

A mob ransacked the office on Monday night. They were protesting against load shedding. The office was wrecked, and furniture was set on fire.

The protestors from areas like Buldhana, Badlapur, and Nallasopara were angry at the unreasonably long load shedding for the past two days without warning.

The state power company has said that disturbances in daily coal supply from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh has escalated the crisis. Several parts of Maharashtra are reeling under 11 hours of daily load shedding.

The company has said it will introduce staggering load shedding of upto 16 hours a day a week for industries from Wednesday.
