New Delhi: Thanks to Slumdog Millionaire, Anil Kapoor has become a global star by now. His performance in eighth season of action series 24, also earned him lots of praises. He has now signed a Rs 100 crore deal with Twentieth Century Fox to remake 24 in Hindi.
Emmy and Golden Globe awards winner, 24 is an American action drama. Since 2001, eight seasons of 24 have been rolled out. Each season depicts a 24-hour period in the life of anti-terrorism agent Jack Bauer.
Anil Kapoor will make his Indian television debut with the show. Media reports claim, Anil's production house will work closely with the international team of 24 for this project. The show will also be dubbed in several regional languages. If sources are to be believed, Anil Kapoor invested a few years in convincing American producers for the Hindi remake.
Anil will step into the shoes of Jack Bauer for the show. It won't be an easy task as Jack Bauer has become an iconic character now. In an interview lately Anil Kapoor said, "It is a huge honor for me. I am grateful to the makers of the show for having faith in me. While shooting for the show earlier, I always wished to make its Hindi version. It is big responsibility for me as an actor as well as an entrepreneur."
