HYDERABAD: The city witnessed the lowest temperature of this season on Sunday when the mercury level dropped to 8 degrees celsius. The Indian meteorological department here says the temperatures will not drop further.According to S Venkateswara Rao, assistant meteorologist, the temperatures will rise in the next three days, acknowledging the formation of anti-cyclonic formations in eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh which will drag cold winds from north India and make the weather warmer in the state. The weather in the city has been fluctuating since the new year day with the minimum temperature being 16 degrees on January 1, 19 degrees on January 8 and 8 degrees on January 15.Earlier in the month, it was termed as the warmest winter until a few upper wind circulations near the coast, the entire state was warming up dragging a lot of moisture from the Bay of Bengal. The simultaneous occurrence of the cyclone Thane, creating low pressure in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal had made the central India and the Deccan Plateau warm during this winter, says Venkateswara Rao.Then, it was the turn of the western disturbance phenomena along the Himalayas and central India to add to the cold weather in the state and some rainfall in areas of coastal Andhra and Telangana to cool down the temperatures Now, it is expected that the anti-cyclonic formations in cenral India will warm up the state once again, and the weather fluctuations will make Hyderabadis sweat once again this winter. And the weather reports say the minimum temperature recorded on Monday was higher than on Sunday.Coldwave Claims 11 LivesVISAKHAPATNAM: The coldwave sweeping many parts of the state has claimed 11 lives in the past 24 hours.
