KOCHI: Celebrating failure takes away the fear of failure, allowing people to live life to the fullest, said actor Anupam Kher during the launch of his debut book ‘The Best Thing About You is You!’ at the 14th DC International Book Fest,in Kochi on Thursday.“I grew up in a poor family where the cheapest thing available was happiness. It was my father who taught me that failure was a good thing and celebrating it is the way to be happy,” said the actor. “Failure is multi-dimensional, whereas success has just one dimension. There is no progress after you become first; rather, there is always a fear that you might lose your position. But when you fail, there is always scope for improvement.”Speaking about his book, Anupam said that when one pretends to be someone else, it shows dislike towards oneself. “Imbibing good values from others is a good thing to do. But we must never try to copy others. Being yourself is the easiest thing to do in the world. So why work so hard to become fake?”Director Blessy, who was there to release the book, said that Anupam Kher is an open-minded person who actually lives his life the way he has written in the book. “The book is actually a mirror of Anupam Kher’s life, even when it is not an autobiography,” Blessy said.Choice School founder Jose Thomas, DC Books CEO Ravi Deecee and DCSMAT Business School director M C Ashok Kumar were also present at the launch.
