Bangalore: Pinki Pramanik continued to dazzle on the continental scene when she did a golden double at the second leg of Asian Grand Prix on Monday.

The Bengal girl left the field behind in the 400m and 800m to lead India to a rich harvest of five gold, seven silver and four bronze medals at the Kantiveera Stadium in the Garden city.

India had captured three gold, five silver and four bronze medals at the Bangkok Grand Prix on May 18.

Pinki has been improving her performance over the last 10 months. She won the one lap race with a personal best timing of 52.46s beating compatriot Manjit Kaur for the second time in succession.

Earlier in the 800m, Pinki easily broke from the group at 650m mark to lead the race to the finish line, clocking 2:04.42 seconds. S Shanthi came second with a timing of 2:04.95. Amirova Zamira of Uzbekistan claimed bronze in 2:05.87.

Hari Shankar Roy announced his recovery from a back injury by winning the men's high jump, clearing a height of 2.21m.

Asian Championship medalist Navpreet Singh improved on his show at Bangkok in the men's shot put, beating Chinese Zhang Qi with a massive throw of 19.84m.

Maha Singh was again unstoppable in the men's long jump, winning the gold with a leap of 7.69m. Shiv Shankar Yadav grabbed bronze with a jump of 7.52m.

However, in the women's event, Anju Bobby George disappointed the 2,500 crowd when she had to settle for a silver, managing 6.35m. The gold went to Olga Rypakova of Kazhakstan who jumped 6.39m.

Patlavath Shankar ran the best race of his decade-long career clocking 50.39s in the men's 400m hurdles to claim a bronze. The time was a new national record, erasing Sahib Singh's eight-year-old mark of 50.43 seconds.

China's Yongyi Wen once again proved that he is Asia's fastest sprinter, when he won the gold in 100 m racing the distance in 10.42 secs, as against his Bankgok performance of 10.30 secs -- his personal and season best timing.

Anil Kumar of India had to be content with silver and Wachara Sondee of Thailand took the bronze in this event.

In men's 3000m, top honours went to Chen Mingfu of China who covered the distance in 8 min 19.27 secs, leaving silver and bronze to Sunil Kumar and Pritam Bind respectively.

India were virtually assured of two medals in women discus throw as the event had only three contestants.

Song Aimin of China won gold with a heave of 61.29 m and India's Krishan Punia (55.77m) and Saroj Sihag (50.68m) claimed silver and bronze respectively.
