THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Assembly Committee, appointed to look into the allegations against V A Arun Kumar, son of Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, has decided on the terms of reference.However, the Opposition members, at the meeting of the Committee held here on Wednesday, wanted the inquiry to be confined to the allegation against the ICT Academy only. However, the Committee has decided to conduct an inquiry into other allegations such as funds allotted to the Academy, appointment of Arun as the IHRD assistant director, appointment of Arun at the model finishing school of the IHRD and funds provided to SPACE, an institute formed by the friends of Arun. Congress MLA V D Satheesan is the chairman of the nine-member Special Assembly Committee set up to probe into the allegations against Arun Kumar.The Committee has four members each from the LDF and the UDF, besides the chairman. The Committee comprises Abdurahiman Randathani (IUML), P K Gurudasan, S Sarma (CPM), C K Nanu (Janata Dal-S),Mullakkara Ratnakaran (CPI), Sreyams Kumar (Socialist Janata-Democratic), K Sivadasan Nair (Congress) and Thomas Unniyadan (Kerala Congress-M) as mememers. Speaker G Karthikeyan had announced the Committee on July 12, following the allegations against Arun Kumar in the Assembly.Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan had himself asked for a probe into the allegation of posting Arun Kumar as the ICT Academy Director.
