New Delhi: BBC's Hindi website has launched a new Internet magazine called BBC Patrika and they have chosen an unusual editor.
Not for them are the stars that are currently the rage in Bollywood. Instead, they have chosen evergreen hero of the yesteryears, Dev Anand, to be their guest editor.
The position will be his for three months when he will be replaced by a new editor.
For Dev Anand, who was first interviewed by BBC in the 1950s, this is a challenge that he would love to undertake.
He says that this would be a new role in his life that has been spent taking on the role of different characters.
The 82-year-old actor-turned-director is excited to be working for BBC as he feels the channel is as original as he was in his hey-day.
Dev Anand will monitor the editorial work of the website from Mumbai. The work will include looking over entertainment features, poetry and interviews.
BBC Patrika is an endeavour to fill the void created by the closing down of many Hindi literary magazines in the country.
