New Delhi: There is no relief for television subscribers who have been trying to acquire Set Top Boxes (STB) in the hope of getting economical and attractive packages of channels at a discount as offered by the Multi-system Operators (MSOs).
With the MSOs putting the promised discount packages on hold, the subscribers will have to wait some more to avail of the offers announced initially in Conditional Access System (CAS) notified areas.
The MSOs fear that if the lucrative offer is implemented, there will be an increased demand for STBs, which they are already short of.
Since the announcement of CAS implementaion, MSOs have installed 1.38 lakh STBs in CAS notified areas and expects the demand to reach 2 lakh by the end of January.
By next month, MSOs expect the normal demand of at least 100 to 200 STBs per day.
