They were getting ready to check out of the lodge, and were waiting at the reception to pay their bills when the receptionist allegedly remarked on the dress worn by the woman. He also allegedly touched her shirt while making a comment on its make and offered to buy her T-shirts of the same quality from Thirupur. This lead to a heated exchange of words between the couple and the receptionist.The tourists left the lodge without filing a complaint with the local police station, but en route to the airport they met a senior police official and expressed their grievance which was taken as an oral complaint.The police then picked up the receptionist for investigation where a case under section 75 of IPC was registered.
