KOCHI: In yet another incident, the police have failed to take any action on a complaint filed by a single woman residing on Azad Road. Though the woman complained that she was attacked by two people, the police is yet to take action even after a week.Ambika residing on Azad Road in Kaloor was allegedly attacked by Rajesh and his father last Thursday. Rajesh who is from North India has been running a godown just opposite Ambika’s house. As the road there do not have enough width, the movement of huge container trailers cause hardships to the locals. “Sometimes, various overhead lines are broken while the trailers go to and from the godown. The walls of our house have developed cracks after being hit by the trailers. So I questioned the owners of the godown,” said Ambika who is undergoing treatment at the Ernakulam General Hospital after the attack. “As the godown is built in the residential area we lodged a complaint with the Kochi Corporation authorities but in vain. So we brought the issue to the notice of the media. This provoked Rajesh who came to our house and attacked us, Ambika said. According to Ambika, Rajesh and his workers are a nuisance to the locals. “It is unfortunate that a woman was attacked in broad daylight. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the authorities are remaining mute spectators to the incident,” said Mahesh, councillor, Kochi Corporation.
