New Delhi: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday briefed the Cabinet on the swine flu situation in the India.

He also spoke about the preventions to be taken to contain the spread of the virus.

The Government is monitoring the situation and taking all possible steps to contain the pandemic, Azad told media.

He advised the people not to panic and take adequate steps to prevent the infection from spreading.

Regarding media reports that adequate numbers of masks are not available in the country, the Health Minister clarified that not everyone was required to use the mask as it was basically meant for those having flu like symptoms so that they do not spread the infection.
