CHENNAI: In an effort to ensure transparency in the working of the trust following the samadhi of its founder trustee, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust released the first edition of the trust’s annual report across the country on Wednesday. In Chennai, senior trust members and devotees released the report in Baba’s Chennai abode, Sundaram on the occasion of the 86th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.The report for the year ending March 31, 2011, records total expenditure to the tune of Rs 96.18 crore, of which revenue expenditures amount to Rs 60.13 crore. In all, the trust conducted 24,188 medical camps during the period, while the Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital reached out to 94,335 patients. The trust, which has nine members including Justice PN Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India, has listed the full-time service of 4,068 members, apart from 6 lakh members across India. The annual report was released at Sundaram by senior trust member K Raman, in the presence of several devotees.
