A young man from West Bengal, recently, pulled the moving train’s chain and climbed on top of railway bridge number 3 over the Rupnarayan River, West Bengal. It is situated at Kolaghat Railway station in Purba Medinipur district. According to Local 18 Bengal, due to this, the train movement at the South Eastern Railway’s Howrah Kharagpur Division was disrupted for almost three hours. The person was captured on the camera demanding an iPhone. After watching the man doing this, the natives left no stone unturned to rescue him. They had almost succeeded in saving him after 3 hours of effort. However, then the rope with which he was being brought down broke due to some reason. Due to this, he lost his balance and fell into the Rupnarayan River. He also faced grave injuries but was saved from the river and admitted to the Paikpari Rural Hospital in Kolaghat, Medinipur. He is undergoing treatment there. Finally, after the man was rescued, the train services resumed normalcy.
The Government Railway Police Force at Mecheda train station has responded to this incident. As per the GRPF, the young man was coming in the Howrah to Adra passenger train. Suddenly, before entering the Kolaghat station, he pulled the train’s chain on the Rupnarayan River, got off the train and sat atop the railway bridge. As per the reports, this person is mentally unstable and it is not yet known how he got on the train. The locals are still in shock over the man who demanded the expensive gadget despite the grave threat to his life.
As seen in the video, this man can be seen walking and running at the bridge’s top. It seems like the person is intoxicated due to which he is unable to understand that he may end up injuring himself if he misses a step. After being taken out from the Rupnarayan River, the locals can be seen caring for the man and washing his wounds. Many are also infuriated that they wasted their time due to that man’s act.
