BANGALORE: Being a mobile applications developer does not always mean being underground. The second Mobile Developer Summit kicked off in the city on Wednesday. Organised by Saltmarch Media, the summit will see more than 1400 developers participating in various workshops by leading developers. “This is a unique platform for developers to learn key concepts and even tips and tricks about development of apps,” said Dilip Thomas, CEO, Saltmarch Media. He added that the Summit differed from the last one in that this time the reach is more. “Last time, the summit managed to attract around 900 developers. It is more now, as the number of apps have gone up astronomically,” said Thomas.The two-day Summit will bring together the likes of Samsung and Microsoft sharing the same platform to discuss the key development areas of their products. “We have experts from the field of mobile applications development talking about new improvements and opportunities for young developers,” said Thomas.The Mobile Developer Summit boasts of a roster that includes 23 speakers, whose expertise in mobile and web technology will surely benefit developers participating in the Summit. “The Summit is open only for a qualified audience. We are looking at people who are developers, who have developed apps for mobile or for the web that can be ported to a mobile platform,” he added. The sessions include writing apps for iPhone, cloud application programming interfaces (APIs), Android app and games development, augmented reality for mobile platforms among others. Some of the key speakers include Jonathan Saggau, CEO, Sounds Broken Inc, Ujjwal Kumar, Worldwide Specialization Lead (development platforms), Microsoft, Rajdeep Mann, iPhone app developer amongst others. Registrations for day two of the Summit will start from 8am at J N TATA Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science.
