Biker dies as police van hits him

CUTTACK: A middle aged biker was killed after a police van knocked him down along Mahanadi Ring Road on Sunday afternoon.He was identified as Mujibur Rehman Khan.Rehman, with a pillion, was going towards Gadagadia Ghat from the direction of National Law University when the van hit him from behind.The police vehicle was deployed in the security arrangements for Tuesday’s India-West Indies One Day International.Mangalabag Police said Khan sustained serious head injuries and was declared brought dead at SCB Medical College and Hospital.The van was seized.Khan, according to police, was a native of jajpur district.
