Bill collector held for graft

A bill collector in the office of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was caught taking bribe in his office on Wednesday.

He is said to have taken the bribe on the instructions of a tax inspector working in the same office.

According to an ACB statement, ACB sleuths caught Vallabh Srisailam, the bill collector in the office of the deputy commissioner, GHMC, Circle-V at Sardar Mahal in NS Kunta when he accepted a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a person at his office.

Jagannantham demanded the money to process a file pertaining to mutation of a house in favour of the complainant’s sister- in-law, Tahsil Begum. Jagannatham was not present in the office when the complainant visited the office.
