BANGALORE: Criticising Chief Minsiter BS Yeddyurappa for his alleged vilification campaign launched through the media by releasing a false charge sheet against him and his family, former prime minister and JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda challenged the CM to order a CBI probe into all such cases and unravel the truth. At a press conference here on Wednesday, Gowda, who seemed upset with the release of a booklet purporting to his family amassing wealth, assured of all cooperation if the charges are referred to any court of law, including the Lokayukta or CBI.Alleging that more than half-a-dozen ministers in Yeddyurappa Cabinet have amassed huge wealth by misusing their office, he said that if the BJP national leaders were serious about corruption, let them prevail upon their CM to order a probe.Accusing the state government of indiscriminate and forceful land acquisition from farmers, violating the SC directives, Gowda threatened to launch a state-wide protest. The government is bullying the farmers to part with their land, he said.Referring to alleged remark of Chief Justice J S Khehar that Karnataka is the number one state in terms of corruption, Gowda questioned the Central BJP leaders and asked whether they needed any more evidence against the BJP government.Gowda said that they would protest against indiscriminate pooling of farm land with real estate interest. At a separate press conference, his elder son H D Revanna also criticised the CM for targeting his family by levelling charges of land grabbing. Referring to the chargesheet released by BJP national spokesperson Nirmala Seetharaman, Revanna invited the CM to order any kind of investigation. The JD(S) leader however refused to initiate any criminal case against the BJP leaders for making false charges.
