JD(U) slammed the BJP manifesto for the Lok Sabha Polls by terming it as a manifesto of communal agenda to get votes.

Expressing disappointment, JD(U) leader AK Tyagi said that there is no mention for special reservation for dalits or increasing procurement price for farmers in it.

Tyagi said that there is mention of cozy relationship with capitalists.

On the Ram temple issue, Tyagi said that today is the end of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee era.

He (Atal) had promised Article 370, Uniform Civil code and Ram temple agenda will be out of BJP manifesto but today has the party has ended that era by mentioning it in its manifesto, Tyagi said.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijay Singh said, "I know they are not dedicated to Ram, they have politically used the name of Ram."

He said, "I am happy that now BJP is also thinking of helping Madarsas, this is a positive thing. This election is very interesting. Modi is a very good event manager."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP manifesto is only for businessmen. He said that it is not for poor or farmers.

Contentious issues like construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Art 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir and enactment of Uniform Civil Code have been included in the BJP's election manifesto with the party making promises on them.

The 52-page document, released among others by its PM candidate Narendra Modi at the party headquarters here, also pledged to provide good governance and inclusive development.

"BJP reiterates its stand to explore all possibilities within the framework of the Constitution to facilitate the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya," the manifesto, delayed by a fortnight, said.

Asked about the reported differences within the party over inclusion of the Ram Temple issue, Murli Manohar Joshi, Chairman of the manifesto committee, said "whatever is there is there in the manifesto. If you want to write something on the basis of your own perceptions, you are free to do".
