BANGALORE: The CBI Special Court in the city has issued body warrant to CBI sleuths to arrest former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is cooling his heels at Chanchalguda Central Prison in Hyderabad.A CBI team has already left for Andhra Pradesh to take the mining baron into their custody to grill him in connection with a mining case that was registered against him in October last year.The police may bring Reddy to Bangalore by Friday and would also interrogate Reddy’s wife, Aruna Lakshmi. The CBI had filed two cases against Reddy following a Supreme Court directive.The CBI had registered cases against two mining firms, including Associated Mining Company owned by Reddy’s wife, which was followed by a series of raids in Bellary, Bangalore and Davanagere.Raids were also conducted on the residence and office of Kudligi MLA B Nagendra while a case was booked against Deccan Mining Company, which has business links with AMC.CBI sources, though, said that the warrant was issued on Monday and a team of CBI sleuths have reached Andhra Pradesh. They would take Reddy into their custody after producing the body warrant at the Hyderabad prison. The team is expected to be back in the city along with Reddy by Friday.
