Bollywood gems that didn't work...
Films that didn't get a chance, films that should have clicked, but didn't. To set the ball rolling, here's my top four gems that didn't work.

In this segment, we'll talk about those films, those gems that we loved, but those that didn't work at the box-office. The films that deserved higher glory than they received. Films that didn't get a chance, films that should have clicked, but didn't. To set the ball rolling, here's my top four gems that didn't work.

First, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Khamoshi The Musical whose failure came as a shock to me.

To that I add, Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades, a noble film intended to change the way we look at ourselves and at our nation, but alas the film flopped at the box-office.

Also, Hey Ram, Kamal Haasan's take on Gandhi and his assasination. Some might call it extremely indulgent, but I thought it was a work of sheer genius.

And finally, Rajkumar Santoshi's masterpiece Andaaz Apna Apna which in my opinion is one of the funniest films made in this country.

For years we've debated on who out of Aamir and Salman was the better performer, I don't think that debate is about to end anytime soon.

My favourite scene in that film -- a scene with hardly any dialogues, in fact. A scene in which Salman Khan disturbs Aamir and Raveena Tandon's dinner with his maniacal laughter because he's just made a radical discovery.

But now of course, it's your turn to make your pick. Tell us about the gems that deserved to work, tell us about the films you loved that didn't become blockbusters.

From this week onwards, Rajeev Masand will review Bollywood films that were loved and appreciated by all, but didn't exactly send Box Office cash registers ringing. Send in what you think were Bollywood gems that didn't work. Click here to send in your list.
